Water Licencing

Boreal has assisted First Nations and independent power producers with the preparation and submission of water licensing documentation for a variety of purposes, including power generation, conservation use, and water storage. Our roles have included the evaluation of the available hydrological resource, determination of water withdrawal rates, environmental flow requirements and storage amounts, and acting as client liaison with regulators and stakeholders.

Boreal also assists clients in the review of third-party project proposals and water license applications. We act as the client’s technical expert ensuring that their interests are held paramount. We evaluate complex technical information, translating this in a meaningful way and identify potential risks and opportunities for our clients.
