With no relevant data available for the four creeks of interest, Boreal completed a detailed regional flood frequency analysis that considered available flow records from more than 50 hydrometric stations within a 250 km radius of the sites. Regional flood relationships were derived and transposed to the four creek crossings. The results were design flood estimates for each site with return periods ranging from the mean annual flood to the 1-in-200 year event. These results, which also included allowances for the future effects of climate change, will be used to design infrastructure that is safe and resilient for the long term.
